If you are looking for a fantastic rib recipe, this is it. It is simple to make, and they are delicious. The flavors from the rub and the apple cider give the ribs a yummy smoky flavor.
If eating saucy, messy ribs is your thing, you can make Tanya’s Barbecue Sauce which pairs well with these ribs.
1 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp salt
1 Tbsp paprika
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp ground pepper
1 tsp ground mustard
2 racks of pork ribs
2 cups apple cider
1 apple cored and sliced
In a bowl, stir together the brown sugar, salt, paprika, garlic powder, pepper, and ground mustard to make a rub.
Place the ribs bone-side up on a cutting board and remove the silver skin. Coat both sides of the ribs with the rub and massage it into the meat. Heat the grill to medium-low. Grill the ribs bone-side down until the outside is golden brown with a caramelized crust. Turn the ribs over and continue until the second side is caramelized. Grill for approximately 15 minutes per side. Turn the heat down to low and continue cooking for approximately 30 more minutes.
In a large pot with a steamer, pour in the apple cider and the apple slices. Heat until the cider is steaming. Cut the rack of ribs in half and place them in the steamer with a lid. Steam the ribs slowly on low heat for 30 minutes.
Slice the ribs and serve.
Just Salt It, and enjoy!
