Summer salad at its best! When garden fresh tomatoes, cherries, nectarines, and basil are available, you have a perfect combination of ingredients bursting with flavor. 
 
This salad is excellent on its own, or top it with grilled chicken or salmon if you want to add protein. A cold glass of a crisp Sauvignon Blanc or dry Chardonnay makes for a beautiful pairing. 

Yield 4 servings
 
2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cup cherries, pitted and halved
1 nectarine, pitted and sliced 
1 small garlic clove
1 cup basil leaves, chopped
¼ cup olive oil
1 Tbsp champagne vinaigrette
Pinch of red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper
 
Add the tomatoes, cherries, and nectarine slices to a large bowl and set aside. 
 
In a food processor, add garlic and basil. Pulse until finely chopped. Next, add the oil, vinegar, and red pepper flakes, and blend until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. 

Pour half of the dressing over the fruits and stir to combine. Add additional dressing if needed.
