"Life has many ways to test a person's will, either by having nothing happen at all or by having everything happen all at once." -- Paulo Coelho, author of The Alchemist
Over the past few months, we have all been tested in endurance and fortitude when confronted with the coronavirus pandemic, social injustices, wildfires, and many other events.
We all continue to make statements of what we are “going to do when things get back to normal.” But, what if the old normal is gone? If so, I believe that is a good thing. Our new normal can become a better place.
Are you taking this time to slow down, pivot, learn, and spread love? Or are you spending every minute fighting against the changes, choosing to stand firm with all your original beliefs, refusing to see the other side of the coin or at the very least learning about it, and spreading feelings of anxiety and anger?
Often anxiety leads to judgment. Some people choose not to go to the source or ask detailed questions, but instead make up their own truth or only go off what others have told them. That equates to others manipulating your story to serve themselves. Can you imagine how frustrating that would be for the person being judged? Have you ever had family, friends, or acquaintances believe they knew something about you because someone else told them that was the case? I know I have and it is was hurtful. Let’s stop assuming. Let’s embrace a space where you can ask the right questions and relish the opportunity to learn.
Cultivate endurance during these unprecedented times. Pursue the things in life that bring you happiness, and the feeling of beauty, whether they are big or small, it does not matter. Living in integrity allows you the power to manifest and the power to endure whatever is going on around you.
